ScotAsh celebrated the major milestone of nine years without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) at the end of last year.

Our achievement in running our operations for well over 3,000 days with no injuries to employees resulting in absence from work follows formal recognition of our excellent health and safety performance.

ScotAsh collected a Gold Medal in the 2011 Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Awards, making it five Gold Awards in a row for health and safety.

It was like a scene from a Hollywood blockbuster – as gunmen staged a daring kidnap attempt on a VIP visitor. And although the assault rifles fired blanks and the stage-drop was ScotAsh's packing plant, the scenario was deadly serious.

Central Scotland Police's firearms officers were testing their skills by taking part in refresher training at ScotAsh's Longannet base. The exercise involved a team of close protection officers, guarding a top politician.

ScotAsh has kicked off 2012 with a few interesting contracts, writes Chris Bennett.

We are supplying the Fife Intelligent Transport System with grout for the overhead gantries on the north side of the replacement Forth crossing.

ScotAsh are also supplying fly ash and cement to West Coast Energy's Little Raith Windfarm at Lochgelly, Fife.

ScotAsh celebrated the major safety milestone of nine years without a Lost Time Injury (LTI)* on Sunday 20th November 2011.

The company’s achievement in running its operations for well over 3,000 days with no injuries to employees resulting in absence from work, follows recognition of its excellent health and safety performance with a major award in September.

The company collected a Gold Medal in the 2011 Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Awards, marking five successive Gold Awards for health and safety.

ScotAsh is finalist in manufacturing award

ScotAsh has been shortlisted for an award as the most sustainable manufacturer in the UK, as part of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers' Manufacturing Excellence Awards 2011.

The company hosted a visit by four Manufacturing Excellence Assessors and a moderator on 10th October and were successful in getting through to the next stage of the programme.
