ScotAsh Achieves 11 Year Safety Milestone

ScotAsh celebrated 11 years without any Lost Time Injuries at the end of November – a phenomenal achievement.

Production Manager Jim Donnelly said the secret of ScotAsh's success was the company's exceptionally strong safety culture, where everyone took responsibility for their own safety and that of their colleagues.

ScotAsh Director Allan Everett said: "Over a number of years the team have gradually taken ownership of health and safety and contribute their own ideas on how safety can be improved.

ScotAsh Wins National Green Apple Award

ScotAsh has cemented its success in the Scottish Green Apple Awards by winning a UK National Green Apple Award.

The company received a Silver Award in the Building and Construction Innovation category for its sustainable construction products.

ScotAsh’s Sales & Quality Director Chris Bennett was presented with the award on 11th November at the House of Commons by Miss UK Green Queen, Sophie Desbrow, of Leicester.

ScotAsh has also become a Green World Ambassador 2014.

ScotAsh Wins Green Apple Award

ScotAsh’s green credentials have been recognised with a Green Apple Award. The company won a Silver Award in the Environmental Best Practice category, adding to other recent award successes, including being declared a UK National Champion in the European Business Awards 2013/14 and reaching the next stage of this year’s VIBES Awards.

Now in their 19th year, the Green Apple Awards are run by The Green Organisation, an independent, non-political, non-profit environment group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.

ScotAsh Named as National Champion in European Business Awards

ScotAsh has been named as a National Champion in the European Business Awards 2013/14. The company beat stiff competition to be selected as one of the UK’s 50 National Champions and will now compete for Ruban d’Honneur status in the next round of the competition.

The European Business Awards judging panel announced the shortlist of National Champions on 17th July. They were looking for organisations that demonstrated the highest levels of innovation, business excellence and sustainability.

Save the Date: Green Business Fife Conference 27th June

Green Business Fife, which is Chaired by Chris Bennett of ScotAsh, is holding a conference and exhibition on green energy and low carbon innovation on Thursday 27th June, as part of EU Sustainable Energy Week.

Aimed at businesses from Fife and beyond, the conference and exhibition entitled: “Driving Change: The Role for Business in the Low Carbon Economy” will be held at the Fife Renewables Innovation Centre in Methil. The event, which is supported by GBF’s partners Diageo and William Tracey Group, will be followed by a Conference Dinner at Balbirnie House Hotel, Markinch.
