ScotAsh Comments on Longannet Announcement

ScottishPower this week announced the likely closure of Longannet Power Station by March 2016, due to a set of circumstances that will make the station uneconomic to operate beyond that point.

In common with ScottishPower, ScotAsh is extremely disappointed that Longannet Power Station will, in all likelihood, be forced to close prematurely and we are now focusing our efforts on managing the implications of this week’s announcement for our employees, customers and suppliers.

ScotAsh Achieves Investors in People Health & Wellbeing Good Practice Award

ScotAsh has achieved the rare distinction of attaining the Investors in People (IIP) Health and Wellbeing Good Practice Award at the first attempt.

The company was evaluated against IIP’s Health and Wellbeing framework in parallel with their re-accreditation  for the main Investors in People standard – which was also successful.

ScotAsh has been shortlisted in the Fife Business Awards 2015 in the Success Through Innovation category.

Delivered by Fife Chamber of Commerce on behalf of the Fife Economy Partnership, the awards are designed to showcase outstanding examples of how Fife’s business community is driving forward the local economy.

PLOD Team Raises £2,276 for Action Medical Research

The ScotAsh team who took part in the Trossachs PLOD over the summer raised an amazing £2,276 for children’s charity Action Medical Research.

The team of Ross MacNicol, Ross Cameron, Louis Caine and Peter Goodwin, with Jim Donnelly and Karen Seivwright as support crew, took part in the event as a way of combining fitness with fundraising, as an extension of the Wellbeing Programme.

ScotAsh Wins Sustainable Development Award in Scottish Green Energy Awards

ScotAsh has won the Sustainable Development Award in the Scottish Green Energy Awards 2014. The awards, now in their 12th year and sponsored by EDF Energy Renewables, were held as it was revealed renewables became Scotland’s main source of power in the first six months of 2014.
