ScotAsh News 17 June 2014

Scotash is making good progress in a number of key markets, reports Sales & Quality Manager Chris Bennett.
Exports of our specialist cement for the oil industry to the United States will increase from four containers per month to six – and we continue to export to Europe and the Middle East. A consignment
of the cement was despatched to Brazil last year and repeat orders are expected to follow soon.
Several windfarms are being supplied with cement via Lafarge Tarmac and ScotAsh envirocems are being used in various and engineering projects, including schools at Buckhaven and Perth.

Demand for furnace bottom ash for the manufacture of lightweight blocks has risen as the construction market picks up and around 1,500 tonnes of fly ash will be supplied for use in concrete for the Border Rail project.
In addition, ScotAsh stabilisers have been used in several recycled roads projects via Stabilised Pavements, in Gargunnock, Callander and Arran.
