Sustainable cements from ScotAsh have proved popular with renewable energy developers, with strength gain over time and reduced likelihood of early age thermal cracking making our cements ideal for wind turbine bases. Our EN 450 fly ash has been used in the dam at the Glendoe Hydroelectric Scheme, while fly ash was also used in the construction of the Kingairloch Hydro project and Trojan grout is used in the relining of hydro scheme tunnels, such as at Drumjohn in Galloway.

Our ash-based products have also been widely used in the oil industry. Our Trojan cement  (which is chloride and sulfate resistant) has been used in the construction of oil rigs and we manufacture a specialist cement that is used in oil pipelines, worldwide.
